There are LED strips for sale with 8 LEDs of the type WS2812b.
These are 3 color LEDs and can be controlled individually.
I have now made such a controller with an ATTiny85 chip.
This is an 8 pin chip that can be programmed via the Arduino software.
The scheme is very simple.
There are 4 connections on the LED strip: 2x ground, 4-7V and the data pin.
You must indicate in the software how many LEDs are used. You can also buy those strips per meter with different numbers of LEDs (30, 60, 96 and 144 per meter).
The push button is used to select the light effect.

The control was placed in a wooden block. A plexiglass plate with drawing is placed in the slot.
